Acer Iconia Tab was released in Malaysia in the recent PIKOM PC Fair in KL Convention Centre (16th April 2011). Packed with a Windows 7 Home Premium, a new player in Tablet war, which is not so impressive after all.

This 10.1″ tablet comes preinstalled with a Windows 7 Home Premium, which is quite heavy for the machine, even powered with 32 GB SSD, 2 GB RAM, and AMD 1GHz dual-core C50 processors. User can feel the slowness from the initial start-up. Installation of software can take few minutes longer than a usual PC, even the Windows Update installation can take more than 30 minutes. I tried an Office 2010 installation, and it takes around 10 minutes to complete.

The tablet also is quite heavy , and after some while of usage, the tablet does emit some heat, which at some point will become hot and it is quite uncomfortable.

The tablet currently cost at RM1699, which inclusive of a keyboard dock that is equipped with 2 USB and 1 LAN port.
